Art, Heart, and Healing: Our Day at the Let Them Bloom Celebration
At The Artist Lab, we believe that art transcends mere color on a canvas; it acts as a universal language that nurtures connection, healing, and joy. On April 19th, committed team, along with a group of enthusiastic students, had the honor of embodying this belief at the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center at CHOC. We took part in the Let Them Bloom celebration, an event dedicated to honoring the milestones and unique journeys of the children and supported by the center. Such events are made possible by individuals who unite with open hearts, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to creating a positive impact.

Art as a Medium of Healing
On January 8, 2025, our founder, Danqing Shen, made a significant contribution by delivering art directly to the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopment Center at CHOC. This center plays a vital role in supporting families dealing with neurodevelopmental conditions in Orange County, and Danqing was warmly received as she presented 41 original pieces of art.
The donation features artwork in various mediums, including drawing, watercolor, and oil painting, with the aim of infusing the center with color and creativity. This initiative seeks to inspire hope and enhance the emotional well-being of the children receiving care, serving not just as decoration but as a source of inspiration and a tool for creativity.
During her visit, the center's executive director highlighted the state-of-the-art facilities and shared insights about the numerous programs available for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental challenges.

Over the years, we have aimed to assist our local communities whenever possible. We have partnered with CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County) to enhance their Children's Library, which aims to introduce literature to students and provide them with books can take home. Donations of both new and classic books are welcomed. Our Self-Publishing Children's Book program encourages students to write, illustrate, and publish their own books. All proceeds from these sales are donated back to our local communities in collaboration with CHOC. If you'd like to support our students and local communities, please consider purchasing their books.
