Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibition

 

The Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibition is an international art competition that invites high school students to express their perspectives on diversity, inclusion, and social justice through creative expression.

Students may submit one original artwork in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, digital art, and other artistic forms. Selected works are featured in an outdoor exhibition in Sarasota, Florida, reaching hundreds of thousands of visitors and inspiring audiences through the power of art.

In addition to gaining international exposure, selected student artists and their schools share a $2,000 cash award to support art education and creative programs.

This competition offers students a meaningful opportunity to use art to communicate important social messages, celebrate human differences, and promote a more inclusive and compassionate world.

The Science Without Borders Challenge: International Student Art Contest

The Science Without Borders Challenge is an international art competition for students ages 11–19, designed to inspire creativity and raise awareness of marine conservation. Each year, participants explore a designated ocean conservation theme through original artwork that communicates their ideas and perspectives. Entries are evaluated based on originality, artistic quality, and relevance to the annual theme.

Competition Highlights

  • Global Participation: Connect with young artists worldwide through a shared commitment to marine conservation.

  • Thematic Exploration: Develop creative interpretations of annual topics related to ocean protection and marine ecosystems.

  • Cash Prizes: Winners in each age category receive $500 for first place, $350 for second place, and $200 for third place.

  • Online Exposure: Winning artwork is showcased through online exhibitions and promotional materials.

 

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines

  • Age Requirements: Open to students ages 11–19, divided into two judging categories: ages 11–14 and 15–19.

  • Accepted Mediums: Original two-dimensional artwork created using traditional media, such as paint, pencil, markers, crayons, ink, felt, and oil.

  • Originality Requirements: Artwork must be created using original artistic materials. Collages incorporating magazines, newspapers, or other non-original source materials are not permitted.

  • Excluded Formats: Digital art and photography are not eligible.

 

This competition provides an excellent opportunity for young artists to combine artistic skill with environmental awareness, using traditional art techniques to communicate the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life.

David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation – Global Canvas Children’s Art Competition (Ages 12-16)

 

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year competition encourages young artists to use their creativity to raise awareness of wildlife and environmental conservation. Each year, participants explore a new theme inspired by issues such as biodiversity, endangered species, and the protection of global habitats.

Competition Highlights

  • Environmental Awareness: Explore pressing conservation issues and communicate the importance of protecting wildlife and natural ecosystems through art.

  • Creative Freedom: Submit individual or collaborative artwork in a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, collage, and three-dimensional art.

  • Recognition & Rewards: Winners receive trophies and art supplies in recognition of their creativity and artistic achievement.

  • Exhibition Opportunities: Selected works gain valuable exposure through exhibition opportunities, with the opportunity to showcase artwork at London's Natural History Museum as described in the competition information.

 

This competition offers students an inspiring platform to combine artistic expression with environmental advocacy, develop their creative voice, and share their passion for wildlife conservation with a wider audience.

Sketch for Survival (Junior: 16 and under, Senior: 17+)

Sketch for Survival is an international art competition and fundraising initiative that invites artists of all ages and experience levels to use their creativity to raise awareness of endangered wildlife and threatened natural habitats. Open to both professional and amateur artists, the competition encourages participants to create original artwork that celebrates biodiversity and highlights the urgent need for conservation.

Competition Highlights

  • Global Participation: Open to artists worldwide, regardless of experience or professional background.

  • Conservation Through Art: Create original artwork featuring threatened species or vulnerable natural habitats to inspire awareness and action.

  • Exhibition Opportunities: A selection of 100 artworks is chosen from all submissions to be exhibited alongside works by professional and celebrity artists.

  • Public Exposure: Selected pieces are showcased during the campaign’s autumn exhibition tour, which includes venues in London.

  • Meaningful Impact: Support wildlife conservation by contributing to an art initiative dedicated to protecting endangered species and preserving the natural world.
